Stephen Marley is an upcoming reggae artist, son of Bob Marley and Ziggy Marley. He released his debut album, "Revelation" on October 29th. The album features five tracks with Jamaican vocalist Luciano; they include the hit single "One Drop". In this first part of a two-part article, we will discuss the five tracks from his debut album and the different aspects from the music video for one of those songs. You can download all five tracks from Stephen's website or purchase it on iTunes for $7.99 USD. "One Drop" is the first track of the album. The song contains a lot of lyrics that relate to Zion and restoration, which many people might find interesting. It also has two distinct parts with different verses, which all refer to the same subject. The 1st part starts off with Luciano singing "I've searched my heart / lost in pain / so why will I stop searching"? This is referring to how he's searching for Zion, but can't seem to find it because he's lost in pain. He wants God to get his attention because he believes that God made him for something greater than himself, which is only true when you're in fact grateful. He wants God to show him the way back to Zion; he sings "I want to get away / come take me out of here / Imma make my exodus". He's pleading for God to intervene and take him out of this place (earth). He's asking God to be the One drop that will help him find his true purpose. The 2nd part starts with rasta lyrics, "One Love, one heart, let's get together and feel alright". The Jamaican people are known for loving everyone regardless of their color or ethnicity. The world has become a big melting pot, but it still remains divided by color. It would be great if we could all just love each other regardless of what group you belong too. Love is the key to everything, which will lead us back to Zion. He sings "God is One Love, Jah is One Love / If you know what I mean". He brings God into the picture again. He sings "Give thanks and praise to Jah / Give thanks and praise to Jah". This means that he wants us to give thanks for God's love and praise Him for His blessings. There are many people who don't know how to truly sing praises unto God because they only sing praises when good things happen. When something bad happens, they sometimes doubt His love, but that's not what it's about. We should be thankful and praise God throughout our struggles and victories. He sings "One One Love, one heart / Once we know we're on the right track / When we spread good vibes all around the globe". Even though the world is filled with darkness, we still have to spread love and light. We can't stop loving and spreading love just because there is so much hate and evil in this world. We have to stick together as one. He's calling us to stick together as a people so we can share the true message of Jah Rastafari Love. He sings "I want to get away from Babylon". eccc085e13
